چکیده

The aim of the study was the molecular characterisation of the aetiological agent responsible for the outbreak of swine influenza with mild respiratory tract disorders, which occurred in piglet sector in 2008. RT-nested-PCR for the detection of the conservative region of the matrix 1 gene and subsequently multiplex PCRs were performed to detect HA and NA genes. The amplified mPCR products were sequenced and the phylogenetic alignment was analysed. The new strains isolated from the outbreak were determined as H3N2. They represent the initial newly emerged subtype in our country, and the second one in the CentralEastern part of Europe. The new Polish isolates were most similar to the new evolutionary SIV strains from Spain, Belgium, and Italy.

Bilateral Pulmonary Thromboembolism: An Unusual Presentation of Infection with Influenza A (H1N1) Virus

Swine flue is a highly contagious acute respiratory disease caused by a subtype of influenza A virus. Herein we present three patients with H1N1 infection complicated with pulmonary thromboembolism. The patients had chest pain and unexplained dyspnea. Imaging studies showed bilateral hilar predominance. Computed tomographic angiography confirmed bilateral thromboembolism (an unusual presentatio...

Background: The pandemic and regional influenza outbreaks resulting from antigenic variation of influenza viruses have been the subject of numerous studies which are crucial to the preparation of the vaccine. Frequent global winter outbreaks of influenza viruses require a constant surveillance of emerging influenza variants in order to develop efficient influenza vaccine. Methods: This study wa...

Abstract Background and Objective: The emergence of a novel H1N1influenza A virus of animal origin with transmissibility from human to human poses pandemic concern. Current subtypes of Seasonal influenza A viruses spread in human are influenza A H1N1 influenza A H3N2 and influenza type B viruses. The aim of this study was to determine current strains of the H3N2 and new H1N1 subtypes of influe...

Isolation of novel triple‐reassortant swine H3N2 influenza viruses possessing the hemagglutinin and neuraminidase genes of a seasonal influenza virus in Vietnam in 2010

Surveillance of swine influenza viruses (SIVs) in 31 pig farms in northern and southern parts of Vietnam was conducted. Six H3N2 influenza A viruses were isolated from a pig farm in southern Vietnam. They were novel genetic reassortants between a triple-reassortant SIV and a human seasonal H3N2 virus. Their hemagglutinin and neuraminidase genes were derived from a human virus circulating around...
